Work instructions for the CNC Lathe Workshop. Topic contents:
Procedures to Follow Before Work
Arrive at the workshop ahead of time.
When you arrive at the workshop, have your personal work clothing and protective safety equipment with you for the work environment.
Your coveralls should not be torn, unstitched, or overly loose, and the sleeve ends or cuffs should be elasticated.
Put on your work coveralls before the start of class. Change in and out of clothing quickly and quietly.
Remember that your workshop clothing is a mirror of your identity.
Be quiet during workshop entry and exit roll calls, and follow the instructions.
Before starting to machine exercise parts, make sure you know what you’re going to do.
If you’re not sure about the procedures, ask your teacher.
Always take your teacher as your example in workshop work.
Do not use any tool, equipment, or machine you’re capable of operating without reading its work instructions, without taking any safety precautions, and without permission.

Points to Pay Attention to During Work
During work, don’t engage in unnecessarily loud, attention-grabbing talk or fast movements that would distract other workers.
Don’t allow people who would distract you during your work to come near your work area and the machine, or to stand in front of it.
Never joke around with a fellow worker, and don’t interfere unnecessarily.
In case of danger, notify your teacher as quickly as possible.
Read the work instructions for each machine and follow the rules.
Report any abnormal conditions on the machine you’re working on to your teacher. Never try to fix any faults yourself.
Let’s remember that all the rules covering work and behavior are aimed at ensuring our safety.
Safely stop all work during break time.
Leave the workshop during breaks. Return on time when the break ends.
Procedures to Follow After Work
Stop the machines you’ve been working on. Clean the tools and equipment and put them back in their places.
Do your part in keeping the workshop as clean as you’d want to find it.
When using compressed air for general and machine cleaning, warn any nearby coworkers who could be harmed. Wear safety glasses.
Dry any parts that got wet during cleaning with a cloth (cotton waste).
Lubricate the parts that need lubrication to prevent rusting.
Store your personal clothing and protective safety equipment properly.
If your work is finished and you’re leaving the workshop, turn off the main switch.
Don’t forget your belongings when leaving the workshop. Leave quietly.
