Steps to Take Before Work
1- Arrive at the workshop ahead of time.
2- When you arrive at the workshop, bring your personal work clothing and protective safety equipment with you.
3- Your work apron must not be torn, unraveling, or loose-fitting, and its sleeve ends or cuffs must have elastic.
4- Put on your work apron before class starts. Change your clothes quickly and quietly.
5- Remember that your workshop clothing is a mirror of your identity.
6- Stay quiet and follow the instructions during entry and exit roll call at the workshop.
7- Before starting to machine practice parts, be sure of what you’re going to do.
8- If you’re not sure about the procedures, ask your teacher.
9- Always look to your teacher as an example in your workshop work
10- Never use any tool, equipment, or machine you’re capable of operating without first reading its operating instructions and taking every safety precaution, and never use them without permission.
Points to Watch During Work
1- During work, do not engage in loud talking or quick movements that would unnecessarily distract those working around you.
2- Do not allow anyone who might distract you during your work to approach your work area or the machine, or to stand across from you.
3- Never joke around with a fellow student who is working, and don’t interfere with them unnecessarily.
4- In the event of danger, notify your teacher as quickly as possible.
5- Read the operating instructions for each machine and follow the rules.
6- Report any abnormal conditions in the machine you’ve been operating to your teacher. Never try to fix any malfunctions yourself.
7- Let’s remember that all the rules covering work and behavior are meant to ensure our safety.
8- Safely stop all work during break time.
9- Leave the workshop during break periods. Return on time when the break ends.
Steps to Take After Work
1- Stop the machines you’ve been operating. Clean the tools and equipment and put them back in their place.
2- Do your part in keeping the workshop as clean as you would want to find it.
3- When using compressed air for general and machine cleaning, warn any nearby classmates who could be harmed. Wear safety glasses.
4- Dry any areas that got wet during cleaning with cotton waste.
5- Oil any parts that need lubrication to prevent rusting.
6- Store your personal clothing and protective safety equipment properly.
7- If your work is finished and you’re about to leave the workshop, turn off the main power switch
8- Don’t forget your belongings when leaving the workshop. Leave quietly.
